Brigidsfest, the Embassy’s annual celebration of female Irish literature and the art of the word, will take place once again in February 2024.
Featuring in this year’s programme is Booker prize nominated author Audrey Magee, whose writing has been praised for its distinctive style, skillful plotting and rich depiction of character, time and place.
Audrey’s novel The Colony was longlisted for the Booker Prize in 2022. She is an Irish novelist and journalist, who lives and works in Wicklow
More informationFrom Wicklow, Audrey Magee is an award-winning and Booker nominated novelist. Her two novels, The Colony and The Undertaking, have been shortlisted and long-listed for several prizes, including the Booker Prize, the Women’s Prize and the Irish Book Awards. She was recently awarded The InWords Literary Award for her two novels, both of which are being adapted for film.
The Colony will be published in Germany as Das Habitat on May 21st, 2024. The publishing house is Nagel und Kimche of Zurich and Hamburg.
