From May to November 2024 Irish literature will be celebrated in all its facets at the LCB.

Irish writers and performers Sheila Armstrong, Jessica Traynor, Ciara Ní É and Megan Nic Ruairí will stay at the LCB throughout May and June. As part of the residency, Armstrong, Traynor and Ní É will read from, and talk about, their most recent work at a garden event on May 28th, followed by a performance from singer-songwriter Megan Nic Ruairí. If you can’t make it to the event, you’ll have the opportunity to take a look at the authors’ work online in the digital villa “VOOO – Villa of One’s Own” and join a digital meet and greet. The stay of the group will be followed by two events – one  at the beginning of July, the other in November.

The Literary Colloquium Berlin (LCB), located in the southwest of Berlin on the shore of Lake Wannsee, is deeply rooted in Berlin’s literary scene while at the same time reaching far beyond the city. Ever since its founding in 1963, the LCB has been a place for literary exchange, intermedial experiment, lively debate and a wide range of public events – from book launches, readings, and comic vernissages, to open-air festivals and garden book fairs for independent publishers. As the only literary institution in Germany, the LCB offers guest rooms in combination with artist residency programmes for writers and translators from Germany and abroad.
