Irish songwriters A.S. Fanning and Louis Brennan are gearing up for an extraordinary concert tour of Germany in spring 2024.
Both Dublin natives, A.S. Fanning and Louis Brennan now reside in Berlin and London respectively. This tour promises a unique opportunity to experience two of Ireland’s finest contemporary songwriters in one night.
Drawing on the rich tradition of Irish literary exiles, A.S. Fanning and Louis Brennan’s distinctive bodies of work both explore displacement, death, identity, post-colonialism and the human condition, themes deeply ingrained in the Irish artistic psyche. From tragedy to farce, their mastery of the written word is evident in meticulously crafted sonic architecture and lyrics. Audiences can expect a rollercoaster ride through musical and emotional landscapes from two singer-songwriters at the top of their game.

Released in May 2023 and described by Far Out Magazine as “A superb effort from a songwriter following his muse to unfamiliar territory and reaping rewards”, Mushroom Cloud sees A.S. Fanning in decidedly apocalyptic form, exploring the anxiety of an uncertain world in majestic brush strokes. It follows his sophomore album You Should Go Mad in 2020, which received support from Clash Magazine, Hot Press, The Thin Air and Spectral Nights to name a few, as well as BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq. He has toured extensively throughout Europe and appeared at Austin’s fêted SXSW in 2017.
Louis Brennan released his second full-length LP Love Island in November 2022. Recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales, it was described by Lonesome Highway as “an essential album for our times”. It follows his debut Dead Capital, co-produced by A.S. Fanning in Berlin and described by Americana UK as “an outstanding album, deep, dark and demanding of attention”. Brennan has performed at The Ramblin Roots Revue, Red Rooster Festival, Folk In The Park and an official showcase at Americanafest UK, and has begun to forge a reputation on the roots music circuit as part of a loose collective of some of London’s finest songwriters and musicians.
