Hamburg Irish Festival is an exciting day-long celebration of Irish music, song, dance and poetry happening on the 23rd of March in two concert locations at Goldbekhaus venue in Hamburg.
The day will kick off at 4pm in the pop-up space “The Pub” – especially created for the Festival – with performances by Hamburg-based singers and musicians Steve Casey, Steve Kavanagh, Martin Burns, Aidan O’Driscoll, Declan O’Connell, and Larry Donlon.
At 8pm the musical activities move to Goldbekhaus’ auditorium, for a concert and visual trip around the island of Ireland with songs, music and dancing from various locations around the coast. Steve Casey, Steve Kavanagh, Martin Burns, Aidan O’Driscoll, Declan O’Connell will play again while Larry Donlon (banjo), Clara-Doose Grünefeld (flute) and Ulli Buth (fiddle) will play for dancers from The Gabriell School of Dancing, complimented on stage by poetry renditions and historical anecdotes. When the trip come’s full circle, the concert will conclude with songs and dances on the theme of “The American Wake.”
The night continues back in “The Pub” with a free-form and impromptu Seisiún Ceoil in “The Pub.” from 11pm until the early hours!
