The Irish Chamber Orchestra perform two special concerts in Berlin’s St. Elizabeth Church in November.
November 23rd, 19:30 – The first concert ‘Mozart Requiem’ is in collaboration with Chamber Choir Ireland and presents the best of classical music with Mozart’s Requiem showcasing Ireland’s choral and orchestral tradition and a German premiere of a new contemporary work by renowned Irish composer, David Fennessy (and which will feature four world class Irish classical singers). This concert will be conducted by Thomas Zehetmair.
November 24th, 18:00 – The second concert is ‘Róisín Reimagined’ and celebrates the best of Irish traditional talent presenting Sean nós (traditional Irish singing) in unique and original arrangements with the Irish Chamber Orchestra and award winning vocalist, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh. This concert is conducted by Cormac McCarthy.
Tuilleadh eolaisFounded in 1963 as the national chamber orchestra under the guidance of János Fürst, the Irish Chamber Orchestra call the University of Limerick home, and has performed extensively over the past five decades in both Ireland and on international tours (most recently in Scotland, the USA, South America, and Germany). Thomas Zehetmair is the current Principal Conductor and Artistic Partner of the ICO.
