German premier of new film commissioned as part of Zeitgeist Irland 24

'If I Fall Don’t Pick me Up' explores the relationship between iconic Irish author Samuel Beckett and renowned German theatre director Walter D. Asmus

The art documentary If I Fall Don’t Pick me Up by from Irish artist and film maker Declan Clarke explores the relationship between iconic Irish author Samuel Beckett and renowned German theatre director Walter D. Asmus. The new film was commissioned to explore this link between Germany and Ireland by the Embassy in Berlin in the framework of Zeitgeist Irland 24, and will have its German premier at UNDERDOX film festival in Munich on the 11th of October.

If I Fall, Don’t Pick Me Up highlights Beckett’s work in Germany, including his residencies at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin and his ground-breaking works for television at the Süddeutscher Rundfunk, assisted by Asmus. The film received a Special Mention in the International Competition at the renowned  film festival FID Marseille in June, and will have it’s Irish Premiere at Cork International Film Festival in November.
